About the teacher
My name is Hanna Männikkölahti. I earned my master’s degree from the University of Jyväskylä, and I’ve worked as a Finnish teacher since 2001. I have taught in different schools, summer courses, and at the university level, and now I’m really enjoying my freedom as an entrepreneur. I live in Jyväskylä, but I teach online all over the world.
In addition to private teaching, I simplify novels into easy Finnish, lecture about easy Finnish and write a blog called Random Finnish Lesson. I also organize workshop weekends for my colleagues, and perhaps one day also for Finnish learners.
I am married and I have two children aged 11 and 14. My family is bilingual, and both Finnish and English are used at home.

How does it work?
With a private teacher, you can study anything that you want and need, using any material that is suitable for you. You can study in the comfort of your home, or anywhere you want to be.
I usually teach via Zoom, Skype or Whereby, and use Google Docs to share and edit documents. I prefer teaching between 7.00 and 16.00 Finnish time. (East European summer / winter time, UTC+2 or 3)
I charge 110 euros for a 45 minute session. The 24 % VAT is included in the price, and I don't charge for cancelled or forgotten lessons. I usually send a bill after three sessions, and my students can pay me through online banking or Wise. Remember to ask if your employer would pay for the lessons! The official name of my trade name is Suomea kahdestaan, and my VAT number is 2198670-2.
If you are interested, fill in the following form and let’s set up the first meeting. You can book the next session after our meeting, or email me later.
